Get to Know Jean

With more than 35 years of experience practicing law in Connecticut, Jean M. D'Aquila is highly regarded as a compassionate and responsive lawyer. She is admitted to practice in the Connecticut State Court and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Jean also served as a Town Attorney to numerous Connecticut municipalities.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Experimental Psychology and Inferential Statistics, University of Connecticut (1981) [Distinction: Magna cum laude graduate and Honors Scholar]
  • Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law (1984)

Jean has represented clients before the Superior, Appellate, and Connecticut Supreme Courts. Some of her most successful cases include:

  • Town of East Hampton v. Department of Public Health, 80 Conn. App. 248 (2003)
  • Ensign-Bickford Realty Corporation v. Zoning Commission, 245 Conn. 257 (1998)
  • Yarborough v. Demiirjian, 17 Conn. App. 1 (1988)

Attorney Jean M. D'Aquila was awarded Middlesex United Way Community Service Award, which is the highest recognition that Middlesex United Way gives.

She was also honored by the Middletown Rotary Club with the Paul Harris Community Service Fellowship Award in May 2014. This recognition was created in memory of the Rotary Club's founder to show appreciation for a person’s contributions to world peace and international understanding. It is presented to community members and Rotarians who have made a significant contribution and difference in their community.

Her extensive professional, civic, and volunteer affiliations reflect her strong ties to Middlesex County residents. These connections also parallel her attentive manner in approaching the legal needs of her clients every day.

Outside of work, Jean is an avid reader of great American literature. She loves lake life, cooking, traveling, and making stained glass lamps and ornaments in her basement workshop. Jean also raises Yorkshire Terriers.

File Retention Policy

At the conclusion of the matter, we will retain your legal file for a period of seven years after we close the file. At the expiration of said seven year period, we will destroy the file unless you notify us in writing that you wish to take possession of it.
